We moved into our new home on Yesler Way, occupying the top floor of a Pioneer Square loft and building on the ideas and creative culture we first established just four blocks away. That first space shaped our practice; this one extends it with a larger build-out and a level of craft we’d long imagined for our own workspace. Still rooted in Pioneer Square, we’re beginning a new era tied to the neighborhood’s material history and creative community.

Our office sits in a historic loft along Yesler Way, once called “Skid Road” for the timber slid down the hill to the waterfront. That history shaped the design. Solid Douglas Fir appears in nearly every detail, bookcases, desks, partition walls, even a pivoting kitchen wall, celebrating the craft, warmth, and structure of the material. Being in this inspiring space, with lofty ceilings, open layouts, and views over the city, Elliott Bay, the Olympics, and a glimpse of Smith Tower, makes a real impact on our creative work. Every surface connects our practice with the story of the building and city.

Follow Me Through Four Level, a floor-to-ceiling video installation by Emily Tanner-McLean featuring footage of the Cascade Wilderness and provocative audio.
